Shernay uses videos to tell stories that inspire people to create the lives they want and better understand the world around them. The Baltimore-native is passionate about covering entrepreneurship and health, especially within traditionally under-resourced communities.

She started her journalism career working for local TV, radio, and print news outlets throughout the South and East Coast, covering everything from mayoral races to the heroin epidemic.

In 2023, Shernay was named host and lead producer of the Webby-honored digital series for TheGrio called
"A Taste of Chocolate," where she visited notable Black-owned restaurants in Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles to learn the stories behind their food.

As an entrepreneur, she's run a content strategy firm, served as an entrepreneurship educator, and in 2020, launched
The Black Mompreneur, which featured a directory of 200+ Black mom-owned businesses in the U.S. She also developed a database that lists business centers in all 50 states offering free coaching and support services for business owners.

Shernay currently freelance reports for Ivanhoe Broadcast News and ABC27 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
